Blast cleaning is a process used to clean surfaces or prepare surfaces for further processing using particles of abrasive that are propelled at high speed by compressed air. The abrasive is directed through a nozzle aimed at the surface to be cleaned.
There is a general belief within Australia that “sand blasting” is the process used to strip metal within our industry. However the use of sand has been prohibited for many years due to OH&S concerns and has been replaced by various specialized techniques that are used dependent on the item you wish to blast.
