The Blast Factory is a family business that has been providing abrasive blasting services to both local and national customers for over 25 years. We are one of Victoria's leading blast cleaning specialists and pride ourselves on being at the forefront of technology within the industry.

A recent expansion has seen Competition Coatings, previously part of The Blast Factory, move next door to 12 Audrey Ave. For all Competition Coatings enquiries please call Andrew on 9350 6350.

Blast cleaning is a process used to clean surfaces or prepare surfaces for further processing using particles of abrasive that are propelled at high speed by compressed air. The abrasive is directed through a nozzle aimed at the surface to be cleaned.

There is a general belief within Australia that “sand blasting” is the process used to strip metal within our industry. However the use of sand has been prohibited for many years due to OH&S concerns and has been replaced by various specialized techniques that are used dependent on the item you wish to blast. At The Blast Factory we have the correct blast media for every requirement. We pride ourselves on our ability to determine our customers’ needs and provide the appropriate process to achieve the best result.

The Blast Factory has four blast rooms, a Hydroblast cabinet, 2 media blast cabinets and 2 automated repetition blasting machines which can provide the following services :

With our specialist equipment, you would be surprised at the amount of materials we can work with, steel, fibreglass, aluminium, stainless steel, glass and timber – take a look at our list of services .

Our customers range from heavy industry through to Jaguar restorers, bespoke lighting manufacturers and artists. We have worked on parts from Melbourne’s own Trams, large steel artworks and all manner of items through to pot plant holders and nuts and bolts! If you wish to restore or refinish any product then we are the specialists to call.

Sometimes a quote can be provided over the phone depending on the job. Alternatively email us a photo with full details of the job and we can discuss your needs.
